piano lessons
Any of your DC getting piano lessons? Wondering if anyone started young (around 2-3) and whether it was a good idea. DD loves to "play" and we have one in the house. Lessons aren't very expensive (around 30 a lesson it seems) but if it'll be a waste of time right now then no point! Wondering when we could start

Re: piano lessons
I wanted to put my dd in lessons, I contacted a few people and said they don't generally start until 5. I started at 5, I just don't have the patience to teach her like I should!

Re: piano lessons
I am a public school music teacher who also teaches piano lessons. Unless you want to start them in the suzuki program, I would not recommend students starting until the second half of kindergarten.
Yes I could work with a 3 year old and they would benefit from it, but it would not be as meaningful until they were older.
