for those who formula feed?
did your child refuse powder? DD is 4 weeks and it on Alimentum. I preferred powder for her so that I wouldn't have to warm bottles in the middle of the night (use room temp water to mix powder) but she is not taking the powder! She sucks down RTF but hates powder.
Anyone else experience the same with any type of formula? Wondering if there is a taste difference?

I could not use powder for DS, although I tried at one point. what about ordering those 2 oz bottles off of the abbott nutrition store online this way you don't have to heat it up in the middle of the night? just twist off the cap and pour it in the bottle. this is what my sister did with my nieces since she has a a lot of steps to go down to her kitchen.

We formula feed and we did RTF in the beginning and switched to powder, then went back to RTF cause LO was spitting up and we tried again with the powder a few weeks later.
Your DD just might not be ready for powder... my dr. told us not to offer powder and just use the RTF until LO was 12 weeks, after that we didn't have any spit up issues.
I love the RTF!!! I know its more $$, but for the convenience, I just love it! I wish DH would let us go back to it lol

we are in the process of getting it covered now, it SHOULD be 100% covered.

Yes...DS is refusing the powder. We use rtf 2oz bottles in the middle of the night and the big bottles of formula that stay in the fridge during the day. I had the same thought as you -- use a Brita and powder at night, but he's been having so many gas problems that cause him to scream at night that we've sucked it up and just started giving him the rtf. DH is not happy about the cost, but, in my mind, it's much better than a fussy baby!!!

Yes. I tried my DS on powder around 3 months. It made him fussy and gassy! So we were stuck using the RTF! What I used to do is get up put the bottle in a cup of hot water in the sink, then change DS diaper and by the time I was done the bottle was ready.

Maybe try mixing in little by little the powdered formula/water to the RTF? Try making the bottle a little more powdered vs. RTF each day.

are there bubbles in there from shaking? I find that after I shake it, I remove the top and 'swirl' the bottle, as you would a glass of wine. Taking the top off and swirling releases some of the bubbles.

They both didn't take to powder. I always gave them the RTF.
I always looked at it, that I wouldn't like powdered milk..so I guess they didn't either!

this... and id use the rtf once in a while bc we had some of it - she started refusing that. Rtf is much thicker than powder.

We did RTF in the beginning. Eventually she was barely spitting up at all and we swtiched to powder. She spits up a tiny bit more now but she's been ok and it's a lot cheaper and convenient.

they do! I order them from abbott nutrition store, i bring them with me when I'm out and about with DS

We just swiched H from RTF Advance to powder. At first she was just drinking a little mor than half and refusing the rest. I gave it time since she would then also refuse her sisters leftover bottle (RTF alumentum) which she would normally have no issues with. She wasnt crying for more after feedings so I didnt force it. Now after a few days she is taking it. Maybe she just needed to get used to it. How long has she been on it?

RTF in the beginning since the hospital gave us a ton of Similac Advance nursette samples, but then switched to powder of the same and haven't noticed a difference.
