Re: do you ice the injection area
I don't.. Not sure if that would effect the absorption or not bc you would be shrinking/constricting the tissues/blood vessels. But when you take two fingers and squeeze/pinch the skin right before you inject, the nerves don't feel the needle as much bc they are concentrating on the pinch.
When is your first one?

Re: do you ice the injection area
I only ice for IM injections (i.e. HCG and PIO) because they hurt and lovenox to prevent bruising.

Re: do you ice the injection area
My first injectable cycle ever I iced before gonal because I was really nervous and afraid it would hurt. Well ..... I did what like 12 or so medicated cycles after that? I never iced after that firs one. I barely felt a pinch and it just turned it into more of a process for me to get the ice... numb up the area... I'd rather just get it done 1 2 3
For IM injects, I used to ice and found that I was getting MASSIVE welts. I started using heat instead and it made all the difference. I used PIO this time from the day after ER to 11wks pregnant and never had any welts.

I iced sometimes when I used Lovenox. When I was stimming, it never hurt enough to ice.

Re: do you ice the injection area
No, I never iced the area. However, my best advice is make sure that the alcohol is dry before inserting the injection. When the injection site was dry I didn't feel a thing.

Re: do you ice the injection area
I always iced before, and then did shot and heating pad after! I have a 3YO from IVF so it didn't do anything to the shots!
