We found out the gender today!!
Were having another  !!
DH and I were shocked, I was sure we were having a boy because I feel so differently this time around (we already have a DD that is 15 month.
I think I already know what I want to name her...Nina! I have always loved that name!
But here is the issue...We named DD#1 Raya Cristine. Cristine is MIL's name, and I said if we were to have another girl I would use my moms name as her middle name, that would just mean lot to me. OK problem is my moms name doesnt flow very well with Nina. Its Hala (it means halo around the moon in arabic) so do you think "Nina Hala" sounds terrible? I think that both ending in "a" kinda makes it not flow. I would really love some feedback from you ladies. Oh and FYI, I havent even discussed with DH yet, lol.
I cant belive Im goint to be the mom of 2 girls!!!!!!

I don't think it sounds bad...depends on your last name (is hala pronounced like ha and la?)

What about some sort of 'variation' of Hala like Haley, Holly or Hallie? I am with you and don't love two names with the same ending going together. BUT if you love it that's all that matters!

I agree. I dont think it sounds bad at alll. Also, think of all the people you know...do you know everyones middle name? I love the meaning behind it too!

I think they go fine together. And like PP said, nobody really goes by their first and middle name together. Congrats!

Congrats!! My niece is named Nina, she is adorable so I think its a beautiful name :) and you can totally put whatever middle name...it doesn't matter!!

I think middle names are so rarely used it's not a big deal, and I think both names are very pretty!

I think if I change the middle name, then its not my moms name anymore, KWIM, but I really appreciate the suggestions. We just found out today that were having a girl and im only 17 weeks, so I should probably just relax lol

Congrats! I actually like the name Nina Hala. I've been saying it over and over and I think it's beautiful.
You'll be calling her Nina and if you're like me you'll only use the middle name when they're in trouble (which is alot  ).

I can agree with the others if you don't like the way both names sound together use another middle name with your Mom's name in it....either way I think it's a nice thing you are doing

If using that middle name means a lot to you, use it.
when I was pg with DD1 we liked the name Lainey, but we used Mallory bc I liked that too. We always said if we had another girl we would name her Lainey.
Well before I got pg again my dad passed away and I wanted to use his name, Tony, as a middle name whether we had a boy or girl.
So we named DD2 Lainey Toni. I know if doesn't flow, but it meant a lot to me. I just feel like thats what her name was meant to be.
You don't say the middle name too often so I think whatever you choose is fine!
