Transitioning to crib

Any tips? DD is 4 months and definitely getting to big for the rock and play.
But I've tried naps in the crib and I can only get her to sleep in there for 30 mins tops. I'm afraid my whole night will be like that :(

I also have to put her in already asleep.
4 months is too young to cry it out, right?

per the book it's ok to start it at three months. But it's more of a soothing technique too. I would try it and see what happens. Just do baby steps. If you work maybe try it on a weekend so that you have the time to be sleepy the next day.

I did it at 4 months as per my ped.

A lot of people say 6 months.

I would try it. Do it in intervals. Put her in a wake and stay rubbing her back for 10 mins. Walk out and wait 2 mins go back in rub for 9 mins, go out wait 3 mins, back in for 8 etc etc. Do whatever intervals you decide I just threw those numbers out there.

It's not easy. It's very hard to do no matter what age. I feel the younger the better, obviously not to young. Do not pick her up. Just talk very low and calm and say mommies here and rub her belly or back, head whatever.

It took dd about 2 weeks to finally "get it". But you know how stubborn she is

You might want to tackle naps and bedtime at the same time. And possibly pacifier. I didn't and I still have to rub her for naps and after 1 yr old you know she's been a beast since taking away the pacifier. I didn't have it in me to all at once but sometimes I wish I had hahaha

I don't know what the right answer is but these are my suggestions. It will get better as soon as she learns.!!!!!!

we actually put DS's rock n play in his room for a while to get him used to going to bed in there (he had been in our room before that). He was in there for a week or so before we then transitioned him to the crib.

We started out raising the crib mattress slightly with a rolled up towel at one end to help simulate the incline of the rnp, and we also put him in a sleep sack so he still felt snug and swaddled like in the rnp

It took a few days before he was used to it and then he was fine.
Definitely try nap times in the crib too if you can

Getting DD to sleep is so much easier than getting her to nap so there was no transition into the crib then. She doesn't nap in the crib though. But try soothing as normal but before DC is completely asleep place in the crib. I never did CIO but I do let her fuss a bit and she usually falls asleep.

Transitioning to crib

I was in the same boat, search this a few months ago and that was my questions. We placed him in the R&P in his room for the first week to transition. Then we had 2 awful nights...The first night my husband ended up sleeping with his hand shoved in the bars lol. The second night was better but still up all night (we did it on a weekend). 3rd night was amazing....I just can't do the CIO. I am a sucker :)
