Neupogen
Hi, have any of you used Neupogen in conjunction with IVF? Looks like I may be needing it and I will likely have to pay out of pocket for it. Can anyone tell me if they needed a full or half dose and how much it cost them? Thank you so much!

Re: Neupogen
I had an intrauterine infusion and one vial if I remember correctly (OOP) was $500.

Re: Neupogen
Hi, I am assuming that you are a patient of Dr. Braverman's? If you are just having Neupogen washes, he does 2 prior to your transfer and he supplies the Neupogen, but if you are being prescribed the injections...you start them around CD 6 and continue through 9-12 weeks of pregnancy. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and Dr. Braverman had me do the Neupogen injections. The dosage depends on your weight. I stayed on Neupogen till 12 weeks and I used 30 vials in total. I was able to get mine from someone on the Yahoo Immunology Support Forum that no longer needed it for a fraction of the cost. I hope that the Neupogen works for you! It was a miracle for me. Anne

This is not necessarily true. Maybe he did this special for you but I did two neupogen washes and had to supply the vials each time. Maybe I did three or four who remembers anymore.... But I definitely had to get it on my own.

Re: Neupogen
Yes, I see Dr. Braverman. I've heard the Neupogen could cost us 3500-5K out of pocket. I am really hoping this is what does the trick after the worst year of my life (loss after loss), because he said DH and I have HLA matches.
I was just curious how others used it (full/half dose, pre/during pregnancy, etc). It's all so new to me, so thanks for your input!

Re: Neupogen
I had 2 Neupogen washes this past summer and he supplied the Neupogen. I travel to see him from SC so maybe that's why I didn't have to supply it, I don't know. Anyway, my insurance covered both procedures.

Neupogen
My insurance covered my Neupogen. I don't remember how much I used, but it was an injection (not a wash). I used it until about 9 weeks into my pregnancy.

Re: Neupogen
For those of you whose insurance covered the Neupogen...how did you make this happen? I am having a huge problem with my insurance. They denied my IVF because I am not "infertile" (I've had multiple losses) so I can't imagine they would approve the Neupogen. Do you have any advice for me as to how to go about seeing if they would cover the Neupogen? As it is, I am paying for IVF out of pocket. Thank you.

Re: Neupogen
My insurance didn't cover my Neupogen script for the injections, only the Neupogen washes that I had in Dr. Braverman's office. Maybe the Neupogen was included in the procedure that he charged the insurance for...not sure. I had to pay out of pocket for the Neupogen for injections, but I was able to get some for 1/4 the cost from someone who no longer needed it. If you want, I can check the board to see if anyone may have some available at this time. My insurance didn't cover any of my IVF's or FET's either...it was all out of pocket. Although, all of my testing was covered under my autoimmune code.

Wow, that's so nice of you, I would love that. I had to pay for autoimmune testing too, so this is going to be . Or you can tell me how to search for it too. Thank you so much for your help, I appreciate it!!!

Re: Neupogen
You can join the Yahoo groups...Reproductive Immunology group. A wealth of information from others and you can check there and see if anyone has any extra Neupogen. I hope this helps!

Re: Neupogen
If its put through as immune I would think it would be covered. I would call your insurance company or have the dr office call. I'm currently on a break but I take neupogen starting on day three so I go through about a vial or so a week. Again depends when you start and how much you take.
Mine is covered by my insurance, not sure how it's coded though. I didn't have to do anything.

Re: Neupogen
Just replied back to your FM. Sorry it took so long- haven't been on the boards in a very long time!!
To add, I did one Neupogen wash before he started having patients do injects and I provided my own vial. I believe I probably provided all the "free" vials for the above poster because I donated leftover boxes to Dr. B. Each box has 10 vials.
