State Disability
Hoping someone can answer this and hoping it's an easy question.
If I am receiving full pay from my job for my entire disability period, do I need to apply for state disability?
Are you eligible for state disability if you don't have any lost wages?
It says you have to apply within 30 days and I am just thinking about this - it's day 31 today - am I too late?
My job did not say anything to me about reducing my disability payments based on state disability coverage - they told me I am approved for 100% of my salary.

I received 100% of my wages. I received two checks. One for the NYS portion and te rest from my company policy. I did not have to fill anything out separately for the state.

I received 100% from my employer. I was told from them I was not eligible for disability from the state since I had no lost wages. I never fille out any state paperwork.

Same for me - and my HR team told me that if I received any funds from NYS while my employer paid me, I'd be responsible for paying it back.

Re: State Disability
Diability is income replacement so why would someone want to collect more than 100% of their salary?

That is what I am wondering. If you have 100% pay why would you collect disability? Also why is the state allowing this?

Some companies have private disability policies in which the employees get a percentage of their pay while on disability (I think ours is 75% but, they dont' take out some of the larger taxes so you get more take home pay on disability than you do working).
I did receive pay from NY state as well - that was deducted from the amount my company paid me and I had to apply on my own. NY State sent me a check and my company reduced the amount of payments they were giving me by that amount. For DS 1 - I had to do all of the work but, for DS 2 - they had a process in place.

This is my question - it didn't say specifically on the state website.
Hey, with how much I give the state AND city, if I could get both, I'd want to but I assumed I wasn't eligible and it looks like that is the case.
Thanks for the answers.
