Constipated Baby :(

Ok so I know bananas can bind you & rice also but is there anything else that might cause DD to be constipated? She was screaminggggggg the other day trying to poop; it was sooooo sad. This also happened like 2 weeks ago & I realized I had been giving her a lot of bananas so I cut back & gave her prunes which helped move things along but it just happened again 2 days ago. So I'm wondering what foods I am giving her that are causing this????

I've heard apples can do this too. I make plums for DS when he gets constipated and it helps a LOT. GL! Hope she feels better!

How old is your daughter you might want to try alittle pear juice and water. Pears will help move things along skip rice all together for now and go to oatmeal. My DD had such issues as a baby.

Applesauce, bananas, rice, dairy, and too many carbs can back things up.

Try high fiber cereal like Kashi go lean crunch, pear juice, prunes, and lots of water to get things flowing. Also a daily probiotic helps or plum Organics sells oatmeal with probiotics in it.

skip the rice and go to oatmeal. They don't have to eat rice cereal, you just want to expose them to it - I never used rice again after the first week -

I only did bananas 1 or 2x a week even though both of my kids LOVED them

Pears are a good substitute (they are just as sweet)

Thanks! I skipped rice altogether (DD is almost 9 months) . She has been getting a lot of apples... I didn't realize apples could slow things down! Thanks everyone
