Amnio today...BABY tomorrow!!!
So, we went for my amnio today for the FLM...
Amnio went well, and was in and out in 2 hours! Having a little cramping now with a few contractions but nothing crazy...
The prelim results came back "intermittent" so they had to send out for further testing to get the LS ratio...JUST PRAYING it comes back higher than 2!!!
Please say a prayer that it does that way BABY WILL COME TOMORROW!!!!
Im 36w2d and SO DONE and READY to meet my little (wo)man?!?!?!

i had my DS at 36w bc of placenta accreta (classical c-section 250 internal stiches 50 staples, 2 arterial embolisms, 3 hour surgery and a partial hysteroctomy, blood transfusions) with that being said IF i go into labor I can have a uterine rupture. I dont know if I would go into labor early or not and would rather not chance it...I can do an amnio next week (37w2d) and if lungs are mature do csection the following day OR just wait and schedule cesction for 2 weeks from today...

Ahh, ok. I was under the impression that an amnio was really just to check for Down's and similar issues early on... Didn't realize it had such a benefit later on too.

You are right!
Amnio between 15-18 weeks will give you a genetic karotype of the baby...gender as well as any chromosomal abnormalities...
Later amnios will determine lung maturity
