what was the deal with this dress? Does the bottom come off so it can be shorter? When she was accepting her award her upper legs kept showing when she was walking up the stairs

The bottom was attached by fabric. The dress didn't split, split. She grabbed it wrong. She's lucky she didn't lift higher than she did.
