Birthday party favors
I am having a party for DD who is turning 4 and I am starting to think about ideas for favors. I do not want to give the standard "bag o crap" that everyone just throws away. How much do you spend per favor on average? I was thinking of getting those Melissa & Doug re-usable sticker books. They go for about $6 a piece. Is that too much, too little??
ETA: picture as an example for what I am talking about - I could do gender neutral or 1 kind for boys and 1 for girls Image Attachment(s):

Re: Birthday party favors
I love that favor idea We do the same thing. One nicer thing instead of a bag of junk that adds up to be $6-$8 anyway. I usually spend around $10 a favor. Yes it is a lot but we don't invite a ton of kids and the ones we do are close friends that give really nice gifts so I don't mind.
The one nicer/more expensive item has become the norm in our circle.

Birthday party favors
I bought my niece this for Christmas and its adorable. I paid $4.99 for it. I personally wouldn't spend that much on a favor though. I shop clearance and spend $4 max on one large thing. Or do an edible

Yes, this was my thought! If I am going to spend the money anyway, why not just get 1 nicer thing than a bag of junk!

Re: Birthday party favors
When is the party? For DD's 4th birthday we gave out saucer sleds. I figured at that age, most kids wouldn't have their own sled yet and I put all the kids names on them.
Just saw them yesterday at Target for $3 each on clearance.

Birthday party favors
I spent around $5 per favor for DS 1st birthday. I think $5-10 on one nice thing is better than a bag of stuff. Those sticker books are a nice idea!

Re: Birthday party favors
We have alot of those and they are cute but, $6 is a rip off I have never paid more than $4.99 for those. Also, in the same price range from Melissa and Doug you can get some nicer craft gifts.
