Question about baptisms
Do all churches not do baptisms during lent? My kids are all sick and DS was scheduled to be baptized tomorrow. We are canceling but the church said they don't do baptisms during lent. So I was thinking of looking for another church. Do all churches not baptize during lent? TIA!

Re: Question about baptisms
My sister is in VA, but her Church said she could Baptize during lent so she set the Baptism for March 10th.

Re: Question about baptisms
My DD was baptized last year during lent. However, we are methodist. I believe if you are Catholic, they do not.

Question about baptisms
Interesting. My church (Catholic) is baptizing my daughter February 24. It never even crossed my mind that it is Lent!

Question about baptisms
I just googled & this is the answer I found.
Yes, although most Pastors discourage the practice.
Canon 856 of the Code of Canon Law says that, although Baptism may be celebrated on any day, it is commendable to celebrate it ordinarily on Sunday or, if possible, at the Easter Vigil. The Code also encourages Baptism during the celebration of the Eucharist so that the relationship between Baptism and Eucharist will be clearly seen.
Since Lent is sufficiently close to Easter, most Pastors recommend that the baptism be performed at Easter.
