Feeding Issues
My dd is 6 1/2 months and Ive been trying to feed her home made pureed food for the last month. It seems like everytime I feed her she throws up after her bottles for the rest of the night. Not the food just her formula. Ive talked to my dr about it and he advised me to water the food down he thinks maybe her body is just having a hard time digesting it. Ive tried that but Im still having issues. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?
Im going to call the dr tomorrow but just wanted some mom advice.

Re: Feeding Issues
maybe you could give a little more info. what time is she eating and what is she eating? she never threw up her bottles before you started the food?
Does she sit up after she eats and drinks?

Feeding Issues
I try in the afternoon and ive tried sweet potatoes, squash and applesauce.
Shes a spitter she has reflux but shes on zantac and alimentum and shes a very happy baby. Happy spitter too. And no throw up when i dont feed her just her normal small amount of spit up here and there.
When shes throwing up it goes flying, its constant not just once after a bottle its numerous times after every single bottle. I have to change her outfit numerous times especially her pants. I have to change my clothes, my husband, our furniture seriously everywhere. I go through 10 bibs or more a day due to this as well.
Im just really baffled as to what to do.

How are you timing the food and bottles? I always nurse first and then give the food 1-1.5 hours later. Remember the formula or bm is the priority so let her have the bottle and then just a little puree. Not that you want to deal with the vomiting all day but maybe try giving food in the morning after her first bottle. I always did that in the beginning since I read that if they have a hard time digesting it can mess with their sleep at night.

Re: Feeding Issues
ITA with spacing out the bottles and food, keeping her up right and watch her cues during feeding. Is she happy, is she turning away from the spoon? Does she gag easily? How is she managing the food in her mouth? If she has a sensitive gag reflex it might be trigger vomiting or her stomach might be to full from her last bottle.

She loves the food when shes eating. Like shes constantly opening her mouth for more. I put a very lil bit on the spoon so she can really keep it in her mouth because she does have a shallow gag reflex. Im actually feeding her first then giving her a bottle if she still seems hungry. And Im giving her small portions just to get her body used to digesting.
Im at a total loss as to what is going on...
