I thought she looked great, but didn't get her speech. She seemed so sad. Is something going on with her?

I think her mom is very sick. Also, lots of booze is served at the Globes. That always makes for an interesting night.
So she officially came out, but Isn't retired?

Thanks. I kinda got that, but was confused too. Well, she looked great and seemed real happy to be up there

Re: Jody Foster
I thought she was rambling at the beginning, but when she spoke about her partner, mother and children I couldn't help but tear up. And from what I got from her speech, she's retiring? I thought she said something about it being an end of one era and a beginning of another, and how she many never be on any stage again.

Re: Jody Foster
I think she's taking on more behind the scenes work - she's been directing and producing for a while now and I believe she wants that to be her focus.
I thought that though it was a bit muddled it was a very brave, poignant speech.

Re: Jody Foster
The speech was weird and confusing, maybe I was just to tired to comprehend it. Couldn't figure out if she came out or if she was just "acting".

Re: Jody Foster
I took the whole point of her speech as "we are entitled to privacy". She didn't have to come out because she's been out for decades to those that know her personally.
I also loved that she spoke to her mom who is suffering from dementia.
I think there is a sadness in receiving a Lifetime Achievement award. She's only 50 & most of the recipients are in their 60s-70s. Also I imagine it was strange to see a new generation receiving awards as the older generations were passed up.

Re: Jody Foster
I found her speech confusing, and she seemed to be rambling. For an actress who had time to prepare her speech, she didn't seem very comfortable reading her own words at times.

I didn't understand any of it lol. I think she was making a joke about coming out but didn't because she said she wants her privacy and it's no one's business. And I think she's retiring and going into a different field and she hopes we look for her little ray of light lol. who knows. I thought it was very odd and uncomfortable.
