I am stressing out waiting for bloodwork results

DD is almost 7 and has hugely swollen lymph nodes in her neck for almost a month. Sometimes they are huge, like puffed out all the way to her jawline, and sometimes they are slightly smaller, but you can still see them on her neck. The ones at the back of her neck and in her armpits are also enlarged. She's been very tired and run down, huge black circles under her eyes. She's lost weight (which she can't afford to lose because she's underweight to begin with). No other symptoms. After being back and forth to the doctor a few times, the ped sent us for blood work on Friday. I've stayed off WebMD and stuff, but I'm so freaked out by this it's insane. I've barely slept all weekend. I know that it could be nothing, or something as simple as mono, but I'm scared. I need hugs and prayers! I also have no idea when we might be getting results... how long does it usually take?

Hopefully you'll get the results today! I used to have the same thing in my neck and there was never anything wrong.

Did they do the quick mono test in the office? I think the mono bloodwork takes a few days to get the results.

Have they tested her for mono? My DD#1 (5 1/2) just had it in the fall. Sounds like a more typical case than she had. She was just VERY sick over and over 104 temps, leg pain, headaches on top of her head and absolutely miserable.

I hope she is better soon and they find out quickly. If they tested her for mono - we had the test done on Monday and the results by Wed.

Feel free to FM me if she has mono - as I said she just went through it and I have btdt. If so expect that she might get sick a lot for a few months. DD caught everything in creation for about 2 months after - and missed a week of school each time - and would go back for a week to a week and a half between each thing. They said it runs their immune system down so they pick up every bug in creation. Has made me a bit more paranoid than I normally am about the flu, strep and other germs etc.

The mono quick test came back negative but one of the blood tests they did was the mono test, so we will see. She's had no fever, no other symptoms but the enlarged lymph nodes, tiredness and weight loss.

I'm sorry you're going through this, I really hope it turns out to be nothing! I don't know how long the results will take, different tests can take different amounts of time but I think most aren't more than a few days. I would call your ped or the lab where you had the test done to get an idea. I would at least want to know how long of a wait to expect. Keeping you in my t's and p's!
