If you are in fron tof the TV at 10pm tonight
Switch on MTV.
They are premering the new show Washington Heights.
My sis and BIL created the show and BIL worked on the camera crew.
It is about a group of friends from the heights that are tryign to make soemthing of their lives but to keep their Domican roots.

Dh and I were wondering about that show bc honestly we thought it was fake and it sounds ridic. Is it fake?

Props to your fam for bringing the Dominicans to prime time!!
It is not fake. They are all real people and not actors nor were they recruited by MTV. They all live in the heights and most have lived there all their lives the others have been there most of their lives.
My BIL grew up in the heights and my sis lives there now. They came up with the idea when they were watchign all the other shows on MTV were most of the "charaters" are already well off and decided they need a show that had everday people on it.

That's awesome to know! I was interested in watching but thought it might be fake.. will def watch now!

Wow for some reason when I saw the preview I thought it was a scripted show not a reality..it seemed like a real show, maybe it is the way it is shot? cool interested to see

I didn't realize it premiered last night. I look forward to watching, especially DH who is Dominican. I'll have to watch a rerun. Congrats to your family. A show featuring Dominicans on MTV is not easy to accomplish.
