Will she ever go to sleep peacefully?
I can't take it anymore! She has always been bad about falling asleep for a nap & bedtime but for a couple months things were going ok. For some reason, this month has been torture! I'm listening to her cry now & it's horrible! I tried everything! I gave up on naptime, I just started driving her around again til she falls asleep. At night I try to rock her long enough so she won't cry but it takes an hour & she winds up crying when I put her down anyway so it's double torture! Will this ever end?

Every child is different. You will find your rhythm with yours. In the beginning, I bought a swing and it worked. Then, at 6 mos I transitioned him to his crib and had to sit in the room with him and sneak out once he fell asleep. Then he started teething and everything went out the window. I don't force naps; he sleeps when he's sleepy. He likes to fall asleep next to one of us before I put him in his crib and I'm not going to change that, it works for me. Hang in there.

Re: Will she ever go to sleep peacefully?
Ugh I hear ya. DD2 is like this. She could be sleeping in my arms, but the moment I put her down her head pops up and she starts crying. We have to rub her back for a WHILE to calm her back down. the MOMENT you take your hand off her back...she pops up again...and she could have been SNORING moments before.
You wanna know what I did last night bc I was so despreate to leave her room? I put a small stuffed animal on her back so she'd think my hand was still on her!!! And she woke up 10 hours later in the same exact position. Stuffed animal on back and all. lol.
Yes, this is what I have resorted to.

I've actually done that before too
She's almost 18 months so we should be past this but it's just getting worse. Tonight I held her for an hour just because I didn't want to hear her scream but of course when I put her down she did anyway. It's crazy for bedtime to take an hour & a half & she still cries herself to sleep

Will she ever go to sleep peacefully?
I've been lying on dd's floor at night and for her nap and hold her hand til she falls asleep. It's not ideal but she is back in her crib and I can't let her cry. Here's to hoping she discovers something she likes holding more than my thumb. At 9 months pregnant getting off of her wood floor is getting interesting.

How about the stroller? that's how ds takes his nap. We have to "stroll' him around the kitchen for a few minutes then he zonks out and we leave him in it for nap time.
Bedtime, Im no help. Though he's easy to put to sleep, the only way to get him to sleep is to hold one of his hands and he uses his other hand to stroke our face. Its cute but we need to start putting him in the crib directly. That's my goal for the winter months.

The stroller works like a charm in the warm weather but our house is to small to stroll around. I guess I'll stick to driving for now. That is so sweet he has to touch your face
