Britax car seats
After the recall during the summer I'm a little hesitant to buy another Britax, but they are supposed be the safest. I have the Britax Marathon for my DS, but now my daughter grew out of her infant car seat and needs a convertible car seat ASAP. I dont love the Marathon, so I was thinking about the Advocate, but that was one that was recalled in the summer. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

The recalls that I saw were not to do with car seat safety, but we related to pieces breaking and becoming chocking hazards. From my research they are the safest cars on the market and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.
Look at the Advocate recall - it was that kids chewed on the straps and pieces broke off. I am sure it has been corrected on the new car seats.
And we have the Advocate and love it. It seems very safe and secure and comfortable.

There is no "safest" carseat.
They all pass the same tests as pass/fail.
Some seats are easier to use, provide more comfort etc, but all the advertisements and claims of "safest" are pure speculation. Because there are no tests to prove their claims.
Go with the seats you feel you will install and then use correctly every time. The one that fits your child, vehicle and budget best. THAT is the "safest" seat.
BTW, recalls aren't always a bad thing. It means a problem was found and corrected. Personally, I would tend to be wary of companies that have a history of fighting recalls (like with the current Nap Nanny stuff) and don't take corrective action.

Britax car seats
We have the Britex Boulevard 70 & ordered from amazon...cheaper then baby stores. I even sold both baby seats & got 70- each for them
