2.5 year old in a big boy bed ... gets out ...
When we first moved our son to a toddler bed, he never gt out for about a week straight, unless we came and got him. Then he figured out that he could get out, so of course, he did. This was about 6 or 7 months ago, and he gets out here and there if he's not ready to go to sleep yet. We let him do his thing, and if he really carries on for a while, then we might intervene (we have a monitor with intercom, so we can talk to him) and tell him he really should get into bed. I know some nights when I go to bed, my mind is just not settled enough to sleep, so I read, or play on my phone, or whatever. I feel like he must go through that at times too. I know when he really is tired, he will get back into bed.
