Long Drive with a 1 1/2 yr old
I know this has probably been asked a million times before and I am sure I read the post but my mind these days is someplace else.
I am leaving on Saturday to go to Ocean City Maryland. I know that my DD might sleep part of the way but then again might not. I am bringing a portable DVD player and some DVD's for her to watch on the ride. I know she won't wnat to watch TV the entire way cuz she will get bored with it so I was wondering what other things can I bring or do to occupy her suring the ride?
TIA

Re: Long Drive with a 1 1/2 yr old
I would bring some favorite toys -- as well as maybe 1 or 2 that she's never played with before -- to keep her attention.
Also if one can drive and one can sit in the back with her that would probably be good.
And make pit stops! Look for rest areas that have a lawn area so she can fun around for a few minutes before getting back in the car so that she'll be able to strech her legs and get some of her restlessness out!
Enjoy your trip! We were planning on going to OC also but money is tight so we won't be going --- but it should be a nice vacation! Have fun! Take pictures!!!

We drive often to LI.
I've found that drawing things and fun kid song CD's help. Also, the magnadoodle was a big thing around 18 months.

Re: Long Drive with a 1 1/2 yr old
Thank you both
I guess I will have to dig in her toy chest and pull some of the things that she hasn't played with in a while since its burried and I haven't rotated the toys yet. Also I have a travel magnadoodle I will bring that as well didn't think of it.
Thankss for the tips
