Getting DS a fish for Christmas, how to present it?
We don't have any fish yet, so it will be all new for him. How do we give it to him Christmas morning? We got him a small 5 gallon fish tank and will probably get the fish right before Christmas, I'm just not sure how to give it to him since we can't really wrap it. We were throwing ideas around the other day, what do you think or do you have better ideas?! :
-Set up the tank with him a night or two before Christmas, then on Christmas morning he wakes up to a fish in there "from Santa".
-Set up the tank with the fish a night or two before Christmas, but not where he can see it and then when he wakes up he sees the whole set up.
-Don't set anything up, wrap up the boxes and set it up and get the fish after Christmas.

I would set it up on Christmas eve, and cover it with wrapper paper (lightly of course). Or just leave it uncovered and put it next to the rest of the gifts.

I would get the tank and set everything up christmas eve, and tape some pictures of fish to it. Then tell him you are going to take him to the pet store to pick out his own fish.

This is probably your best bet. The tank needs time before you can put fish in it. And this way he can pick out the fish.

I don't see it as any fun without the actual fish being there. I say throw a bow on the tank. Dh moves around those five gallon Poland spring bottles all the time- set it up to cycle in another room. You could also fill it less and then add the last couple gallons xmas eve.
