Gap Holiday Dress Prices
Just a vent...$65 for 2 that I looked at
I've always bought dds' dresses from there, always on sale, so never more than $30... I looked this year and saw a couple of nice ones, but they were $60+
I'm almost certain previous years they were no more than $48... before sale
They were never that much, right?
Also went to Gymboree outlet and saw a dress that was just alright and I think it was 30 or 40% off, but looked at the original price and was either $79 or $89! I just left discusted that maybe the prices were marked up because of the sale.

Re: Gap Holiday Dress Prices
Seriously- I wouldn't spend that on a dress for MYSELF- much less one that my DD will wear a few hours and never again. I NEVER EVER shop for her in those overpriced rip off places- The Children's Place, and especially Gymboree to me, are the biggest thieves in the world.

Totally agreed. Gymboree in particular is the biggest rip-off ever.

I would never spend that much on a dress for DD - she's only going to wear it once...maybe twice.
It's all a mental numbers game - they seem to be raising the prices and offering more and more "sales." It makes you think you're getting a deal.

That's Kohl's whole marketing strategy 50% off these tops that were ridiculously marked up to begin with!

I know this is going to sound crazy, but try Savers and Once Upon A Child. THey have racks and racks of them, mostly name brands. I always get my DDs gorgeous, almost new dresses from there for maybe $5 or $8.

My sister got a beautiful Ralph Lauren holiday dress for my niece at Once Upon A Child for about 6 dollars. It looks like it was only worn once.

Because I guarantee you it was. Think about it- you buy them a beautiful, pricey Xmas dress. They wear it on Xmas. For a few hours... then it's PJ's. Done. They never wear it again.
I agree about Savers or Once Upon a Child. It really is a sin to waste money like that for children that young.

I agree, but it's insulting. I am not dumb. A Gymboree dress for $79? That's insane. Those are Janie and Jack's higher end prices.
