Re: Telling family on christmas

We are telling our families for Xmas. I got my parents a frame that says a grandchild the best Xmas present and am putting coming jull2013 in the frame and I got mil the same with an ornament. Then for the brothers each got something they like that says worlds best uncle! My other idea was making a personalize calendar with family pictures and then using a sonogram pic for the month I'm due. But my dr appt is late so I don't know if I have time to do that...but possible!

Congrats!

I like the idea of them opening a gift. Or maybe have your dd open a big sister shirt!

I've heard of taking a family picture and instead of saying, say cheese, say, "say (your name) is pregnant! Then you have the pic of their reactions.

When I was preggo with my third we told my family at Christmas. We hung an extra stocking up that read TBD 7/09. We just waited for someone to finally notice. Took more than an hour!

I was just coming on here to post this exact questions! I will be 8 weeks on 12/21 so hopefully we can see the heartbeat before spilling the news. I was thinking of putting a sono pic in a frame and having my in-laws open it. And the same for my family!

OR I saw some cute shirts on etsy that say "Santa is bringing me" on the front and "a new baby brother or sister" on the back. But I dont want anyone else to notice before the grandparents, you know?

Thank you all for your suggestions! I saw cute shirts on etsy also but when I miscarried I had my daughter wear a big sister shirt so not sure if I want to do that again. My husband wanted to hang an extra stocking also. I was thinking about doing a savengar hunt!!!

Re: Telling family on christmas

We got a plain ball ornament and wrote "grandparents to be", and the due month and year... it took them a second, but was funny!

eta: for #2 we put DD in a shirt that said big sister, and took photos- you could do that and wrap it in a frame.. we also wrapped up a onesie that said little brother and little sister...
