2 week old sleep ?
My 2 week old dd does not like to sleep...the most she sleeps is a 3 hour stretch if I'm lucky and not at night of course...shes up for 5 hours at a time, mostly just hanging out but then she gets cranky and fights going to sleep...just looking for any advice or anyone else who went through this.

Re: 2 week old sleep ?
At that age I wouldn't expect any kind of long stretches of sleep so the 3 hours sounds normal to me. 5 hours seems like a lot to be up at one time, maybe try putting her to sleep before she starts getting cranky? Sounds like she might be getting overtired. My DD used to fight it a lot too for some reason.

This and keep her swaddled.

Re: 2 week old sleep ?
Is she awake and calm? Or does she look uncomfortable and in pain?
My DD would wake to eat every 3 hours at that age. Almost on the dot! But she almost always immediately fell asleep after her bottle.
We are trying to establish a night time routine now to help DD wind down. Ironing out what works best for her and us but we are incorporating bathtime with lavender lotion. And I don't always use soap so I don't dry out her skin.
Also during the day we make eye contact and talk to her. We encourage her wakefulness during the day. At night it's "all business" - feed and diapers only- and it help DD to regulate sleep paterns by realizing night time is for sleep.
But honestly, sound like you and baby are doing great at this point! Keep it up!

Re: 2 week old sleep ?
Swaddling will definitely help. They sleep longer while swaddled. Newborns need anywhere from 15-20 hours of sleep per day... After you feed her, and she's up for a short while, swaddle her and try to put her back down. At 2 weeks, there will be no schedule, it will take time.
