We got invited to a 1st birthday party from my mom's group. The boy has 2 older brothers (ages 2 and 3.5) that my 2 sons play with. I am not particularly close to the mom but our kids play well together when we attend mom's club functions. We have never hung out with them one on one outside mom's club functions. We have probably seen the family 1-2x a month for the past year.

What is an appropriate gift to give?

I know I exchanged most all baby toys that DS#2 got for his 1st birthday. We basically had the exact same item or something very very similiar from DS#1's 1st and 2nd birthdays.

Would it be strange to gift something the older 2 boys could play with?
