If your baby clearly doesnt like a certain food do you give it again?
I started DS on peas today and he clearly didnt like them. He kind of refused to open his mouth, spit some out and turned his head however, he did take some bites and if I gave him time he eventually ate it though he obviously didnt like it that much. So, if your DS doesnt like a food do you continue to give it or just leave it as one of those foods he/she will not eat and wont feed to them again?

Yup. I kept trying it until she ate it. Now she eats everything. All veggies, all spices, not picky at all yet!

I absolutely keep trying. I read somewhere (trying to find it, but it was from Cornell Cooperative Extension), that it takes kids 10 tries of a new food before they can truly decide if they like it or not.

My dd started peas yesterday and she hated them. She kept gagging until she threw up. I will re try them a few more times.

Ds hated squash at first.. We tried it a few times for allergy testing then stopped for a month or two. I tried the squash again recently and he ate itnwith no problem.

Yes and no. I don't force it, and if he obviously hates it we stop, but I keep trying it and if after a week we are still hating it I mix it. Green beans are that food. My kids HATE green beans so I mix another veggie or a fruit in it to "mask" it and that works. Right now he is hating meats from a jar, but sometimes we have to because what we're eating i'm not comfortable giving him. In that case he gets 1 meat, and 2 2oz cubes of a home made veggie. I really have to mask those lol. I just don't want him to not want to eat...ya know. There are so many foods out there that I don't push it or make him keep eating if he really dislikes it.

This to a point.
*I* hate peas! LOL I will stick with it but if she flat refuses I'll back off and try a few days later. After a few rejections I let it go for a few weeks and try again. If not then a month or so (she's 4 I'm still trying).
She'll try anything and everything once. And she'll finish her bite and will say "no thank you" to any more. Which I think is more than I can ask for, so I let it go.
Ironically she loves peas, green beans and cauliflower (I hate them ALL!)
I remember when I was little (but old enough to recall) I was forced to eat peas. One of those you can't leave the table type things. I refused. Late into the night, my legs and butt hurting and I'm nearly falling asleep at the table, I was forced to eat them. I threw up so bad its the LAST time I was asked to eat peas. I won't do that to AJ. If she says no nicely then fine. I'll back off. But she has to TRY a bite of everything at the very least.
If she REALLY hates it she'll ask me to remove it from the table. Otherwise I left it there. She sometimes forgets and will eat more of whatever it is.

Re: If your baby clearly doesnt like a certain food do you give it again?
Yes! Exposure is key! As a toddler DS is more picky and I still put small amounts of food he doesnt like on his plate (we have 3 compartment plates and I will put lets say a teaspoon of mashed potatoes [he hates 'em] in one compartment and the foods he loves in the others).
Also keep in mind that a childs taste buds change and their perception on certain flavors will change as they get older. Keep trying!

maybe try taking another food they might like - like carrots and mixing it with the peas....
