Excavation/yard grading

Does anyone have experience with excavating and/or grading? DH and I are house hunting and we found one we really like, but the backyard slopes upward and has lots of skinny trees going back about 100 feet to the property line. This yard is literally the ONLY thing stopping us from making an offer.

So, we are looking into how much it might cost to clear this space out and flatten the yard. Not the full 100 feet, probably just half of it. There is no fence around the yard (yet) so it wouldn't be a problem to get equipment back there to do the work. We really have no idea how much something like this costs... can anyone help??

Re: Excavation/yard grading

yes, we had our yard regraded last year. it is very expensive. you will probably need retaining walls also. not sure if our price will help you since it will vary on property size, retaining walls needed, how many trees, etc. if you need a referral FM me.

Excavation/yard grading

We had our back yard graded this summer. But it was just that a bit of the yard sloped down a little bit - it was already mostly flat, so it wasn't a huge job. The company we used was great and I think their prices were incredible (they did other work for us too - removed about 20-25 trees). FM me if you'd like the info.

Expensive.thousands depend ending on property size. With installation of our ingroundm pool we were given the option to regrade but we also needed to put retaining walls. We didn't do it.
