Of an IUI cycle.

It's very weird to be back here. I'm doing a few clomid/injectables until I can put myself back together enough for another go at IVF. It's nice to do a cycle for which I have zero expectation or emotional attachment. And apparently my uterus is "pristine" from my scope. Oddly, I have never done an IUI cycle with injectables.

How intense is the monitoring compared to just clomid or IVF? (somewhere in between, I'm guessing)

New question: the protocol is 5 days on 100mg clomid and then 2 vials menopur. Is that typical, with no follistim?

Re: CD 1

With injectible its's just more monitoring. They check your levels and change your dose accordingly so you're in the office at least every few days from the start of the medication. Not like clomid where monitoring starts on CD10 or CD12 (depending upon what day you start clomid).

Good Luck!

I have only done IUI with clomid and Injectables . The monitoring was a little more with Injectables. But I think it also really depends on how you're responding because I went 4 days after the first injection and then only everyday for two days. Third day was insemination. But then I have read where other people go every other for about a week and then inseminate. Either way I'm sure it's less intense than IVF. Good luck to you!!!

An IUI with injectibles is like a vacation compared to IVF. For me it was a CD3 appointment, come back in a week and if you're responding well, maybe a few more sonos (I usually had 2-3 a week after CD3) and then the IUI! Praying it goes well!!!!

I think I went for 1 more monitoring appt when on injectables than on Clomid for IUIs. I think I went 3 times before I had the IUI, including a CD3 baseline visit.

I had done IVF already so the RE basically knew how I'd respond to injectables. And I agree, monitoring for an IUI w injectables is nothing compared to monitoring for IVF.

Thanks, girls Chat Icon Monitoring gets me stressed because Cornell has late hours and teaching does not exactly have flexible scheduling. I was anxious about doing these cycles for the mere purpose of keeping my hat in the ring over the interim.

But I like the "vacation compared to IVF" talk!

Re: CD 1

i just did my first IUI with Injectables. They watch you very closely. I went in on CD3 for sono and blood. Thye check your levels and hormones. On that day they tell you what dosage to start up. After that they had me come back in 4 days to see how I was responding then..it was every 2-3 days for sono and blood. I just had my IUI so now I'm in the 2WW.

I wish you lots of luck this cycle!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks for the dust and luck, girls. I got my protocol yesterday, and I'm curious about it.
