Nervous about the ER part of Ivf..,
This has been what I think is a pretty long Ivf cycle. Today I am on night 13 of stims. I should be on them prob for about another 3 days. I have 12 follicles ranging from 10-16. I have been a super slow responder do hoping those little ones mature!!! I am nervous about the ER as I have never been under anasteshia ( spelling) before. How is that part of all of this???

Don't be nervous! The procedure itself is so quick-I was only out for about 15 minutes.

Re: Nervous about the ER part of Ivf..,
I was put out a few times before my ER ... and though it's totally easy and the anticipation is the worst part, it's still not something I love. I don't like not feeling in control. The actual experience is pretty easy though. You go on the table, they put you in position, and once the IV is in, you're out very quickly. Before you know it you'll be waking up and wondering if it happened

Re: Nervous about the ER part of Ivf..,
i was nervous too but i was also in a good amount of pain before the ER (borderline OHSS)
honestly it wasnt too bad. it took about 3-4 days to feel back to normal but again, thats probably mostly from the borderline OHSS. just make sure you stay hydrated and rest! plenty of gatorade!
good luck!

Re: Nervous about the ER part of Ivf..,
The ER itself is not bad at all. I've been put out a few times and each time the anesthesiologist tells me 'okay you're going to start feeling tired now' and I think to myself...yeah right that's not going to work. And then....I'm waking up wondering if they did the procedure yet. It's the days after ER that are tough. Be sure to rest (I didn't and that was a mistake bc I was in a lot of pain) and stay hydrated. GL!

Re: Nervous about the ER part of Ivf..,
My ER was the best 15 minutes of sleep I had gotten in months! I wasn't nervous about the procedure itself, but waking up and feeling out of it. Well, I woke up more refreshed than if I had just taken a nap. I was alert and literally felt ready to go.
Don't worry, the ER is really easy. You just have to show up and everyone else takes care of it for you!

Nervous about the ER part of Ivf..,
My ER was about 40 min since I had way too may follicles...I also had some pain after that they gave me pain meds for and I was fine...the actual ER was really easy and I couldnt believe that I was asleep for what seemed like forever...I did say some wonky things after which was funny but overall not a bad experience...
