Seriously- I need some help!

what is going on with this child and his sleep habits???

This is not even crying- its screaming and its beyond a level 10!!!!

He WILL not sleep w/o me and to be honest- I have nothing against co-sleep- but whenever he does sleep with us... he gets up at like 4 am, and starts crawling around (wierd...) for no reason....

In the dead of sleep- I put him in his crib- and he wakes up.... and on the rare occasion I can trick him into the crib- it only last for a few hours...

Im a fan of CIO- but one of my CIO rules... is not to let him CIO at a level 10- and as I said before- this is beyond that (almost like screams of pain)

Could something be bothering him??? I was thinking that maybe his ears are bothering him- and keeping him up at night. But I guess if that was the case- they'd still hurt even though he was sleeping with meChat Icon

I also tried the Sears method... which IMO is soooo ridiculous, and def. was not working with my child!!!

Is there a "right" way to co-sleep.....???
Please help me! I just dont know what to do anymore...

aw Marissa, I hope that you finally got RJ down. I will say that we had some definite rough patches with my daughter and her sleeping. I had gone to work many a time on 1 hour of sleep. I wish I had advice.

Its clear he likes sleeping with you. He will cry at whatever intensity is required to get your attention from his crib. The fact that he is calm as soon as you pick him up tells you this -- he isn't crying for physical pain, he just is really really mad that you aren't picking him up yet.

You have to decide what is ok with you. If you are ok with sleeping with him, then go on and continue. If you are fed up, you may need to leave him at level 10 for a few nights to get back on track.

I'm not really sure how co-sleeping works without nursing -- 4 am is a very common time for cosleeping/nursing mommas to do a night nursing to get baby to resettle.

If he is crying like he is in pain, could he be teething? I know when Hayley was cutting her teeth 2 weeks ago she was screeming like that and she also had an ear infection that I didn't know about.

While he has no fever and rarely pulls on his ears and NEVER expresses any kind of pain during the day- I think I might make an apt. for today- to rule out an ear infection.....

Hopefully my Dr might have some advice!

Re: Seriously- I need some help!

I noticed that now that Bella is 10 months old, her cries have changed...she knows that if she hits a certain level I will come running, so now she does it ALL the time. DH and I finally let her go at naptime yesterday and she passed out after 3 minutes...3 hellishly long minutes...

They are at an age that they learn how to get what they want...it's soooo funny how she knows how to work DH and I differently...

How old is Ryan again? Maybe he doesnt like his crib. Is he old enough for a toddler bed yet?
