Is this normal?

DD is 6 days old.
She's only taking 1.5-2ozs per feeding every 3-4 hrs. A couple times she has taken a full 3ozs.

Last night DH had baby patrol & let me sleep. He brought me the monitor around 4ish (I think) and said she ate last at 12:30am and took 3 ozs. I didn't sleep a lot as I was expecting her to wake up any minute. I guess I passed out & woke up at 6:45 - and she was still asleep- not a peep from her. I go into her room and she starts movin around so I get her up & change her when she starts waking up more and then fussing

I'm just in amazement about how she slept from ~1am to ~6:45am for being only 6 days old.

Is that normal?

My DS was exactly like this. Still a great sleeper at 6 months.

DD was like that. She was very sleepy for the first two weeks and wasn't all that interested in eating. As long as she's gaining weight, I would enjoy it while it lasts!

Re: Is this normal?

DD's 1st night home from the hospital she slept 6 hours. I panicked and woke her up LOL.
It continued with few interruptions over the months (teething, sickness, awareness) - but she was and still is a great sleeper.

The Ped told me to wake her after 6 hours because then techincally she 'misses' a feeding. I never did and she had no trouble growing Chat Icon
