BTDT Christening outfit question

DD's Christening is coming up.. I had her dress made from my wedding dress. The lady who made it took extra care to be sure the inside is super-comfy for DD. Still, I think I should have "back up" outfit, right? I was thinking it & then my friend & my mom suggested it. I don't know what to do tho bc I want her to wear her dress the whole time. I'm not really wanting to buy another "special" outfit, ESP if there's a chance she won't even wear it. All the dresses I have for her (besides Christening dress) r too summery. I have a cute white juicy couture footie one piece but I feel like DD is too old (she's just shy of 5 months) to wear footie outfits any other time but bedtime.

What do I do? What did u guys do? I could really do without this stress since I have 900 others things to get done before this Christening!!!! Any advice is appreciated!!!! TIA

I also had my daughter's dress made from my gown, but I did change her into a party dress also. I changed all of my kids into a party outfit after the church.

Keep her in the outfit as long as she seems comfortable.

I would try to find a more comfortable outfit, even if it's not a dress, to change her into if she starts getting cranky.

I didn't use a special outfit to change dd into... Just something comfy. I dress dd in footsie outfits still and she's almost 9 mOnths old.

Something like this would be pretty and still special- although you probably don't have time to order. Maybe you could find something similar

Thanks! I was gonna ask if anyone did this too? I dunno why I felt like DD was too old... I feel like I never see "older" infants in footie outfits. Then again, I had DD in may so it's been too hot all summer for footie outfits anytime other than bed. Thanks!!!!

Re: BTDT Christening outfit question

I changed DD into this outfit for the party. It was much more comfortable for her and easier for us to carry her in. The top is onesie material and underneath are very soft cotton pantaloons.

I got it at Cathy's Touch in Merrick.
