Veteran's Tax Exemptions
My husband is a combat vet and we want to take care of all of the tax breaks that he is entitled to.
I filed the village exemption and the STAR expemtion (yes, I know this is not uniqely for vets).
What else am I missing? Do I file w/ ToH and the county? Thanks!

I would call the VA and make sure you have everything you need

Re: Veteran's Tax Exemptions
If your house is located in Nassau County, file a Veterans Exemption with the COUNTY in addition to the STAR exemption.
If you live in Suffolk County, file a Veterans Exemption with the TOWN.
If you live in an incorporated village, file a veterans exemption with the Village.
All of the forms (at least for Nassau County and the Suffolk towns) will be on the municipality's website. You will probably have to call the Village for their form.
Please note that different conflicts have different rates of exemption (i.e., a WW II combat vet will have a higher percentage exemption than a Koren War vet).
