Any SAHM want to go back to work?
I am a sahm because I felt it was best for our kids. For 5 years i had a great time doing it...now I am without any mom friends and my days get lonely. (we moved) s far as interaction-we were busy and always with a group hanging out. now, i am a sahm who is able to volunteer, be room parent, take kids to sports. i babysat, sold jewelry, bartended...i don't mind working at all-but dh's schedule is hard to work around.

Any SAHM want to go back to work?
I was never a FT SAHM but only worked very PT after having DS (usually 1x per week). After DD was born I had the opportunity to go back FT in a new position and I went for it because I never truly loved being a SAHM and felt working more would bring me more balance. So far it's going pretty well, but I work overnights so it gets stressful since I'm not sleeping great. I never in a million years thought I would prefer to be a working mom but I really do love the adult interaction and mental stimulation that I get there. Eventually I would love to go PT working 2 long day shifts, I think that would be the perfect balance for me. It's so tough trying to figure out what is best for you, your kids, and your family.

i couldn't possibly feel any more opposite!! im a SAHM but not on purpose. it wasn't my choice although i wish it was. i would give almost ANYTHING not to go back to work. my husband does not make nearly enough for that to ever be an option. we'd need to win the lottery. i dont miss ANYTHING about work. i hate my old corporate environments and i loathe the thought of having to balance that and DD and any more future kids. however almost all of my friends are SAHMs and we all have similar aged children. i feel more isolated going back to work and having to fit in with corporate BS than i ever have over the past 16m staying home with DD.
i am only sharing this because i find it so interesting how we all want what we don't have. if it weren't for money i wouldn't ever for a second consider going back to work. maybe once DD and any future children are in school full time. but as babies i wouldn't want to miss a moment of this. they only stay little for a short time.
You said it, grass is always greener. No matter what I do, I feel guilty! I've worked full time , and I've stayed home. Either way, I feel bad about something, mommy guilt

Any SAHM want to go back to work?
I am so glad that you posted this.. I am an almost FTWM (4 days a week) and tomorrow is my first day back at work after a `10 day vacation and 10 wonderful days of being with DD-- Ive been depressed all weekend and dreaming about how I can become a SAHM and how wonderful that would be.. I logged on to LIF to ask " any SAHMs ever wish they worked? "..grass is definitly always greener.. a balance is ideal.. part time or flexible work /hobby and the flexibility to spend time with your DC
