help! baby is a howling hyena at night all of a sudden!!!
Little baby is 4 and a half months now and his colic is muuuch better so this is tripping me out. He averages 32oz a day about 3 hours inbetween feedings. Now....last week alll of a sudden he was sleeping 11 to 7 am after his night bottle of 6 ounces. He did this for almost a week and I was weeping from joy. Lol. But wait! He decides now not just to wake up at 130 and 430 each night, but wakes uo hoooowwwling hysterical!!!! So we give him bottles but.... What???? He went 8 hours and woke up mellow but now wakes uyp twice starving and pissed. I don't think its a growth spurt bc he is a big boy to begin with. Also we will be starting cereal per docs orders in two weeks. Any ideas?? Oh and once 430 hits he will no lay back down so I lay on the couch with him for hourssssss. Helllllllppppp lol tuiaaa!

Re: help! baby is a howling hyena at night all of a sudden!!!
my ds just turned 4 months and we've been having the same exact same problem, same times too! he was sleeping through the night from 8 weeks to 12 weeks but since then he's been waking up twice a night for a bottle also. i think he's just hungrier since he's more active now. i've been wanting to start him on cereal but dh wants to wait until his next ped appt. which is next week.

They can do this! It is a mind F*ck because you think OMG they are sleeping. Listen to his cry. I nmoticed that most of the time DS did this it was a different cry...not the I'm hungry cry. Even though he will always take a bottle if I give it to him in the middle of the night we figured out that one of the times he was teething....other times he was starting soemthing new (crawling, walking, etc.)
Also I know you said you are going to start cereal....you might want to skip rice....it causes gas and since my DS was gassy and had colic I did it for 2 days and moved on. I did not need him to go backwards jsut over cereal.
