swaddling!

how many of you swaddle your baby every night at bedtime? I have since my daughter was born, and shes 3 mos 3 weeks now. Some people say it can cause them to over heat, but even with the air conditioning? what do you think? And if you've always swaddle your baby, when did you stop, and how did they stay warm? thanks alot!

My dr. said not to because she needs to learn to regulate her body heat. She never liked it anyway.

I swaddled my Bella every, single night for almost 8 months my attempts at weaning are well documented here...

My doc said it was completely fine and even found it funny that Bella still liked it that long...

Do what works for your child...Bella slept through the night from a little over 3 months with the swaddle...it was mostly fall/winter when we did and she wore a footy pajama and miracle blanket (it's made of pretty light jersey material)

We did up until today

Sofia really liked being swaddled and slept so well with it. She is now 5 mos and we have decided to stop cold turkey as she is fighting her way out of the miracle blanket during the night and turning all over the place. Because of this we really had no choice but to stop for her safety. Anyhoo..... it's still a struggle as she also still uses a paci which we are going to try weaning off next.

During the warmer mos you can either swaddle with just a onsie or just the baby's diaper.

my DS is 6 months and still swaddled. I wanted to stop, but he cant sleep otherwise. His arms are the enemy.

ugh - I wish I could have as long as you guys did. As soon as I came home from the hospital, I was a complete spaz with the swaddling, so we stopped at 1 week old
