Did I really just volunteer for an internal??
I got my first one at my 36 appt and it HURT, and it's been 2 weeks, so they gave me the option if I wanted one. I said yes just to see where things were...glad I did, I am 1cm dilated 
And the best part was it did not hurt even half as much as the first one. I guess it just depends on the day....

It also hurts more when it's earlier because you're not open at all. As you get closer it stops hurting. Only my first one hurt (and I only bled at my first one). Congrats on the progress!!!
