what am I doing wrong...talk to me
Please give me some words of advice....Im really at my wits end...
Yesterday my 3 yr old was sitting on my lap turned to me and growled, then said Im going to hit your face....I warned her you better not...before I even finished saying it she wacked me across my face!! (Im shocked...I dont hit my kids...the occassional pat on the tushy if completely out of line but thats it)
I yelled (understatement) at her, told her you never do that (it was a whole big thing) and she cried in time out for 5 mins (she normally does 3 but I needed the extra 2)
I cried and when I told her she is never to hit anyone esp her momma...she cried appologized hugged and we were ok the rest of the day
Today she was sitting on my lap, passed gas and laughed, then she said she was going to poop on me...I told her thats not nice and she shouldnt even talk like that! She said shes going to pee on me...I told her thats not nice now get down off my lap she said no and then peed on me!
WTF!!! Im really starting to lose my mind here

I have no advise, sorry, I wish I did! Honestly I would just keep up with the time outs, maybe upping them to 5 min?
I just have to say that my 5 yr old cousin says inappropriate stuff like that and WORSE (MUCH WORSE - like, sexual in nature) and my aunt barely does anything to stop her.

I would be livid too.   I would sit down with her and explain that there are punishments to her actions. I would take her favorite toys away and all TV for a day because she knows what she did was wrong. Explain the more she ratchets up her bad behavior the more privileges she will loose. I would explain that if she wants to be bad she will be treated that way (loose things she currently enjoys), but she could choose to be good and be given privileges for her good behavior. I think she is testing you. Is there something new going on at home (move, new school, baby, divorce, etc)? I would also make sure to tell her that you love her and always will no matter what she does, but you will still be disappointed if she does something willfully bad. I am so incredibly sorry.

I really can see my one son acting the same way in a short time (he is only 1) I have no idea how to address this, I have been just doing a stern NO and distracting. I plan on asking my ped for advice on the next visit. bc he is already showing signs of acting out.

She's definitely testing you, keep up with the time outs. I would also probably not let her sit on my lap anymore for the time being.
I'm thinking of trying out a reward chart with my 3.5 year olds for good behavior, rather than focusing on the negative.
This age is so tough, I wish I had more words of advice.

She is looking for ur reaction so any reaction u give her is attention and reinforcing the behavior. When ds does things like that I get up and ignore him for a minute or so. I agree with the behavior chart idea.

DD used to test our limits in a similar way, except she did it during timeout. She would threaten to pee or poop on the carpet if we didn't take her out of timeout...and she's done both 
My kids never responded to reward/behavior charts. Instead, DH and I took all of her favorite toys and tied them up in a garbage bag and let her watch as we tossed them out the front door. (I brought the bag back inside when she wasn't looking). She got her toys back when she said she was sorry and promised not to do it again.

I just dont know...
We do have a new baby but he's 4 months now and we did move to another state so no family around (but that was 10 months ago)
We have a visitor with us right now (DH friend) just for the weekend...so she might be showing off...of course Im mortified!
She's normally pretty good (for a 3yr old) but the past few days shes been horrible.
My mom doesnt think it wasnt malicious becouse we were joking about farting on me...but the slap to the face was! Either way she does know whats right and wrong and peeing on me is definately a no-no!
I do try to reward the good behavior, we have a star chart or she gets something special if she's good when I really need her to be (food shopping with both kids by myself)
The past few days has just been horrible...my only thought is she's acting out because we have a house guest...all I know is THANK GOD preschool starts TOMORROW I am sooooo done
(she loves school too)
