Never flush wipes down the toilet
since DS got older, I've been wiping his butt before bath and throwing the wipes down the toilet. We had a leak in basement, and they had to clear our clogged sewage line....PACKED with wipes! $700 later, maybe I'm an idiot for not knowing this, but I figured they are not much thicker than toilet paper....WRONG!
Don't flush those wipes...ever!

Never flush wipes down the toilet
Sorry you had to go through this!! They might not be much thicker but they dont break down in the water like toilet paper or disposable cottonelle wipes do. If you want to keep wiping him down grab a box of those. We use them all the time and I've never had a problem.

what? wait! seriously? i knew about the regular baby wipes because they arent made to break down but i thought the flush wipes were? i tell my dd to use just one flushable wipe after wiping with the regular tp after poop....now im scared....i guess no more flushable wipes?!

We learned the hard way as well..and all we were flushing were the flushable ones!
The rotorooter man said that we should not be using anything but Scott. One of my students did a science experiment on toilet paper, and the only one that really broke down was Scott.

Oh thats terrible! My husband is such a stickler about this and doesnt even want me flushing tissues or tampons.

There's flushable wipes. That's not what you were using right?
My plumber told us that even the ones that say "flushable" are a big no no.
We were throwing so called flushable ones down and it caused a huge back up.
On a Sunday no less.
$450 and a snaking later the guy said to never flush anything other than TP and to always use 1 ply only.
Expensive lesson learned!

You sholdn't flush anything other than toilet paper.
Even the ones that say they are flushable are not good for your pipes and can cause a huge issue.
We learned the hard way.
Now my DH won't even let me flush a tissue anymore.

Our plumber told us the same thing. No wipes, not even the cottonelle ones for adults.
I freak out when my husband attempts to flush tissues, and I'm constantly reminding him that baby wipes aren't flushable.
I think when you have to fork over a huge amount of money for a plumber to come on a Saturday night, you learn really fast what you can and can't flush.
