starting over and feeling confused...long vent

My pregnancy after my July 4th transfer was short lived. I had a D & C on Thursday and I'm having the tissue tested to see if we can get some answers since this is my second m/c. I had one before starting with an RE, and as a patient of LI IVF for the past year, I've had two chemicals and now this. I'm starting to wonder if I should accept that my family of three is all we will be.

Next step is genetic testing for both me and DH. RE thinks we're just having bad luck and said we can try again after 1 cycle but I'm nervous to do a FET, we have four frosties, if there is some other underlying issue. Each loss brings more frustration and despair.

We made an appointment with Dr.Braverman for a second opinion next month. He seemed very confident that he could help us. I'm not sure he will find anything because, without disclosing that we are getting a second opinion, I asked my RE about the blood tests she has run, and she claims she has tested me for everything including autoimmune issues. I asked about my insulin levels and any other blood disorders and she says everything is normal. I tested borderline for one clotting issue so she had me on lovenox and baby asprin as a just in case. I'm kind of conflicted if I should keep my appointment with Braverman if she has already covered it all.

In the meantime, my DH set up a date for his varicacele surgery for the end of September. We're trying to cover all bases because if the next IVF cycle doesn't work, I think we may go back to trying naturally after DH is healed. We already have our precious DS who was conceived natually, and I don't know how much longer I'm willing to TTC before throwing in the towel. The emotional roller coaster takes a toll on all of us.
Sorry for the long vent, still in the pitty party stage

Dr. B tests for more things than almost any RE. he has his own custom panels for both thrombo and immune. so no matter what your current RE says they tested for, i can pretty much guarantee that Dr. B's panels will be more comprehensive. sorry you are going through this. but i can guarantee Dr. B will be worth it, he looks at things that most other REs don't.

Thanks for the insight, it seems strange to say but I'm hoping that there is something wrong, that is fixable, so that I can have some answers. This whole "bad luck" thing isn't sitting well with me.

I say keep the appointment with Dr. B. He will look over your reports and give you a list of the tests you still need. He will also test DH which is a great thing!

I agree with them too. Dr. B finds things no one else tests for. Remember that you will also be changing up what you did before- I don't think you can do the same thing over and over while still getting bad results.

I am pretty much in exactly the same boat as you. I have had several losses (with no known cause), two chemicals, I am fresh off of my 2nd failed IVF cycle, my DD was conceived naturally (and miraculously!), and I am trying to figure out if I can even do this any more. I want DD to have a sibling so badly, but I am sick of the emotional roller coaster. I am trying to come to terms with the fact that it may just be DH, DD, and I. We have ben seeing a therapist who speciaizes in infertility and it has helped tremendously. I am taking a break for several months before I try IVF again. (I don't have anything frozen).

If you need to talk, please don't hesitate to FM me.
