Donating again (same as with #1) to the public bank. Your hospital and OB both have to agree to do it.

We did it with DS1 and will do it again with our next DC. I just can't imagine not having it if god forbid we ever needed it.

it's not a viable option for us financially.
My personal opinion is that the science/tech isn't advanced enough yet. the storage life hasn't been proven to extend throughout the person's entire life.
We are going to try to donate it - I would like to support ongoing use/research and further advancements in the field.
If it wasn't so expensive, I would give it more consideration for us.

We would have definitely been doing cord blood...especially after going through what we did....it opens your eyes that you will do ANYthing for your children. If god forbid something would have happened and the cord blood could have been used but we didn't save it, I don't know what I'd do with myself. It's because of that "what if" that I had decided we'd save it. It feels like such a small investment to not have to worry about that "what if". Just my two cents, and I know not everyone feels the same, and obviously I might be a different scenario b/c of what we went through (although I felt this way before losing our daughter too). Good luck deciding!! It's a very personal choice for everyone!

we are doing it! We were looking into it with our twins but i delivered 2 months early and we never got around to really going through with it. This time we made sure we signed up for it and have a pyament plan of $68 a month so there was no upfront fee right now. Our first payment will not be due until November (i'm having DS on 8/9). Then once we get our tax refund, we will pay the rest off. For us personally, we wanted to do it becuase god forbid anything, it's there. We would never be able to live with the what if's and didn't want to take any chances.
