Food aversions
I usually love them, but ever since I saw them sitting in trays at a BBQ a couple weeks ago, I can't even stand the thought of spare ribs or chicken smothered in BBQ sauce, something about the look of the BBQ sauce dripping off them and the smell of them, ughhh... yuck...
anyone else have an aversion to food they previously loved?

Re: Food aversions
For weeks when I was m/s everything bothered me. Then at about week 13 I felt better but could not eat any meat at all. I was always a meat eater. Even now, I can not look at Israeli couscous again. I know strange, but that was what I ate the first time I got m/s.

Re: Food aversions
I used to cook chicken like 3 times per week.
I havent been able to eat or touch it for the entire pregnancy. The only acceptable thing is chicken fingers if theyre extremely crispy. I could vomit thinking about grilled or roasted chicken. EW.

Exact same thing. And wouldn't you know it, after I gave birth, the first real meal i had in the hospital - CHICKEN. It was like nothing ever was wrong with me and chicken. I had about 7 meal options, but that was what i wanted.

Re: Food aversions
I actually haven't had a single food aversion.
However, I did start getting totally grossed out by these probiotic vitamins I used to take. They were chalky and tart and made me want to gag.

There is a restaurant by me that makes amazing spicy thai calamari and DH and I would get an order to share all of the time as an appetizer. We ordered it the other night and the texture of the calamari almost made me vomit.

Food aversions
This is kinda a weird one, but every since I got pregnant, I can't really look at coupons for supermarket items! It's like coupons for food make me feel sick to my stomach. I don't get it at all!!
I can't deal with raw chicken at all so I'm barely cooking this whole pregnancy, but that's not really a food aversion since it's raw. I've been craving a lot of thai food, but when I eat it, I get seriously sick to my stomach. :(

Same here actually. I didn't think of it initially but while I'm eating it I'm fine, I can stomach it but afterwards I feel horrible.

Re: Food aversions
I can't stand anything. I keep telling DH that I'm starving the baby because I can't stomach eating most things. I used to LOVE red meat. DH & I had steak at least once a week. Well, the baby hates steak, so I don't eat it anymore. DH is going crazy...

Re: Food aversions
I really struggle with lettuce. We belong to a CSA and get these beautiful, fresh heads of different lettuces and just looking at them makes me sick. I used to eat salad every single day, but I just can't do it anymore. It makes figuring out what to eat for lunch really difficult.

Re: Food aversions
I've had no morning sickness but my only safe food is cereal. I usually love pizza/pasta and now i'm not fan. Meat isn't even close to being an option. Ironically I am so im the mood for a crab cake and mozzarella sticks.

Coffee! I loved coffee, and I know that we are supposed to limit the amount of caffine we have to I guess it is a good aversion to have. The smell of it makes me sick!!

Any type of meat grossed me out during my first trimester. Now I'm back to eating it without a problem.
