If I am EBF...(TMI)
am I allowed to use Monistat 7 for a yeast infection? SO sorry for the TMI, I'm mega embarrassed and I tried to use the search for this question because I could have sworn I have seen it asked in years past but I couldn't find it. I vaguely remember 7 being ok but not 3 because it's stronger, or something like that?
Also, is there a chance DS could get thrush because of my infection?
Another thing... I was in the hospital in May for 2 weeks because I had my gallbladder out and they accidentally hit my pancreas while in there. I was on a lot of antibiotics everyday because I also had high fevers and they didn't know what was causing them. They tried a new, strong antibiotic daily and I ended up getting a yeast infection while in the hospital. Ever since coming home, even though I have been off of the antibiotics, I feel like I've had some form of one off and on. Could the strong antibiotics have done long term damage or maybe this could be fixed with some yogurt and probiotics?

I would call your ob and ask about Diflucan. Chances are you have some sort of yeast infection in your body and just treating the vaginal area may not clean it up. When my sister was on mega antibiotics they put her on diflucan and I had to take in when my ds and I got a bad case of thrush. I took a low dose oral liquid for like a month but it is what finally helped.

Call your ob and get diflucan!!! I have taken it many times for a milk duck yeast infection. It is safe to feed your dc while taking it. Also you can look on lactmed.com to see what meds are safe or not.

Also, the Infant Risk Center is amazing. It is run by Dr. Hale and his associates. www.infantrisk.com You can call them at anytime and they will tell you if something is safe or not in regards to breastfeeding. I have contacted them countless times and they are so helpful and super sweet. Good luck. hope you feel better! Also, get a good probiotic going as well. that will definitely help you out.

this sounds crazy but my friend told me that there are all-natural approaches to yeast infections (she can't use any medications because she's had a stroke). I'm pretty sure that she said that to fix a yeast infection, she put a clove of garlic in her hoohaa. You can google for more info, cause i'm sure i'm missing a step or two...
Maybe you could try something like that instead?
