Where is a nice place close to LI to get away for a few days with a 6 mo old?
That is, besides montauk manor  I'm looking for a place to celebrate dh and our wedding anniversary but at the same time also have a good time with ds who will be 6 mo. Would love to hear some suggestions!

theres mystic, ct. you can do the aquarium with your ds and enjoy the seaport too. its a nice overnight-2day getaway and close by that you wont have ds get antsy in the car.

I was going to suggest Mystic also! Not sure about Fire Island.

we spend a lot of time over in fire island and haven't had any issues with it being buggy. it's such a great place for kids too!

I was going to suggest Mystic too. We went to FI last weekend for the day with our 8 month old and had to bring so much stuff just for the day - much more than going to a local beach. I love Greenport too and it's a great town to walk around.

cool! do you stay overnight there? can you recommend any hotels? what are some activities on fire island? i just know that it's a beachy area... but always wonder what else the island might have
