moms of 3+... best time to have #3?
This may sound strange, but was there a good time to have #3? Meaning with the 2 kids at home, school, running back and forth, etc etc... is there a better time of year to have #3?
Meaning ds#2 was born in january. I thought it was perfect because it was cold and therefore i didn't feel bad keeping ds#1 (3 1/2 yrs old when his brother was born) inside all the time.
ds#2 was awful the first 2 months and we couldn't take him out since he cried whenever he was awake.
I guess i'm kind of afraid to have #3 during summer because if #3 is like #2 as a newborn, then i'll be keeping 2 toddlers inside a lot.
ds#1 is 4. ds#2 is almost 6 months old.
So when #3 comes along, my 1st will be in full time school.
just curious if the moms of 3 or more found a better time/season to have another with other toddlers/kids at home. Although this is probably all irrelevant since i had issues getting pregnant with #2 so who knows how long it could take to get pregnant with #3 and i'll be happy with whatever i get.

we just got a playground for the backyard..... it won't be that bad to take them out in the summer if you can occupy them with outside toys.

Re: moms of 3+... best time to have #3?
I was wondering the same. I want to plan on having #3 in May/June so then I can have the summer off with all 3 kids. Then I laughed and said I'm setting myself up for disaster. Then I thought it would be best if I try and have #3 in Sept that way I'm only home with the newborn.
DS#1 is 3.5 DS#2 is 2yrs 4mnths. I personally would like to wait until both my sons are in school to have #3. It will be our last and I really want to enjoy the newborn stage one last time.

Re: moms of 3+... best time to have #3?
My older ones were nearly 6 and 8 years old when #3 arrived (he was due March 14th and came February 24). So the age gap was a big blessing since our first few months at home were nice and quiet with the older ones in school.
Now that summer is here, he is just about 4.5 months and it's a tough age for summer things. He can't sit up yet, so he doesn't get to do much yet. I am running all over with the older kids this summer between their summer rec camp and their activities, so it's actually nice that he is still pretty easy and mobile in his infant car seat carrier.
So I think that the early year time frame was perfect for us, because there was no super cold winter to have a newborn out in, the weather in the spring was nice for walks and the kids were still in school for a few months.

Re: moms of 3+... best time to have #3?
I had #3 in late October. At that time my older girls were 5 and 3.5 and in school FT and three half-days, respectively. It was a brutal winter...remember 2010/2011? I was very lucky that my DH brought (and brings, actually) the girls to school every morning but still I was responsible to pick them up. One was picked up at noon by car and then her sister was picked up at 2:30 on foot. It was a challenge with all the snow that year.
Otherwise, I felt it was great getting to spend a lot of one on one time with the baby and with nursing in peace, etc.
My actual third pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and I was due in mid-August when the girls would have been 2 and turning 4. The older one would have been entering pre-k FT; middle one two 2 hour days. I thought that would have been great--a few weeks to stay home without worrying about school runs and to adjust to the family of 5, then school starting in September. But....as you said, planning can be pointless. Even still, I think late summer still seems appealing.

Re: moms of 3+... best time to have #3?
MY boys were 3 and 4 when #3 arrived in April. I found the transition to 3 kids pretty easy at these ages. Weather warmed up and we were able to spend time outside which is good.
Hopefully I am going to have a 4th same time of year and they will be 7, 6 and 3.
