not a happy camper....with questions for IVF vets
so i'm still taking ganirelix and waiting for AF to come so i can start stims. i did lupron for 8 days and now i've been on ganirelix for 2. dr. t expected AF to come on friday and i still have not bled at all.
i'm freaking out a little bit.
my lower abdomen has a dull ache.....like a heaviness....not cramps. i don't feel like i usually do pre-AF.
on friday my lining was 12 and they wanted it to be thin. i also had a "bunch" of follicles on the right side and one 11mm one on the left side. the more i think about this, the more confused i am. why do i have so many follicles right before AF is supposed to come and why is my lining so thick? has this happened to anybody before????

I am not sure about the follicles, but your lining would be thick if you have not had AF yet. Sometimes the meds mess up your cycle - so I am sure AF is just running late. My first cycle I was at least 5 days late.

agreed. your lining will lessen when you get AF. Not so sure about the follicles though. Good Luck!

The Lupron causes FSH and LH to rise initially and that is likely why you have multiple follicles. As a previous poster said, your lining is supposed to be thick around the time of AF. Lupron is known to delay the start of AF. My AF was always delayed by a few days with a CD 21 Lupron start. No worries. Give it a few more days. If it does not come and your lining is still thick, they will likely give you Provera to start your period. I wouldn't worry just yet though because Lupron delays the cycles of most. Good luck.

thank you ladies! i'm so scared the cycle will get cancelled. it took me 9 months to get in the right frame of mind to do this and now i just want it to go well!! i guess i feel scared b/c the dr mentioned doing a d&c to "clear things out" if i don't get AF and that just terrified me. anyway, thank you again.......keep the AF dust coming! LOL

My period came 5-7 days later when I did the lupron protocol. I think you are fine, sounds like its on its way since you are having cramps.

If I can remember correctly...I would get AF on day 3 of ganirelix. Your pre-AF symptoms will be different when on meds. And the fact you have light cramping tells me its going to be there soon. And it probably wont be normal. Like everyone said...once you have a bleed your lining will go back down (like resetting itself) then they will rebuild it up with stim meds.
