7-eleven slurpies?
I know i'm being overly cautious...but i remember reading to avoid soft serve ice cream b/c of bacteria in the machines if they're not cleaned properly. Does the same go for slurpees too?? I didn't even realize this until today-AFTER i went to 7 eleven yesterday and drank a slurpee!
I'm sure 1 won't hurt me...but if necessary...I'll avoid them the rest of the summer.
TIA!

Re: 7-eleven slurpies?
I would think this could be the same issue as soft serve, although I don't know. I don't think I can ever drink them again for a different reason though. I was recently at self-serve yogurt place and watched a little boy stick his finger in the spout to taste the yogurt. Makes me wonder just how often this must happen at self serve places.

Re: 7-eleven slurpies?
I had never heard that about soft serve. Well, my son survived and I had a grape slurpee a few times per week during his pregnancy.

Re: 7-eleven slurpies?
I dunno......... is the icecream an issue because its dairy that could spoil? slurpie is just sugar.

Re: 7-eleven slurpies?
I think the issue with soft serve is the milk product. If the tubing the base comes up through the machine from isn't cleaned regularly it can harbor listeria.
