Short LP and Progesterone
I had a short natural LP. I tried 2 months on clomid and it lengthened the LP but gave me terrible side effects. Third month I did injectables without any progesterone. I got a BFP and my progesterone levels have been GREAT. I think my body just kicked in when it had to work.
Progesterone supps are a good first step. They can be taken as supps or injections. It's usually personal preference.
Good luck!

Re: Short LP and Progesterone
progesterone should work. what makes you think it wont?
i didnt have an LP defect but my LP was 10 days so borderline. post partum its down to 9 days although i havent been temping so im not 100% sure of the O date. when i was doing medicated cycles and on progesterone i would never ever get AF while on progesterone. it would lengthen my LP indefinitely! some people do get AF on it, but for me i cant imagine it. i would have to be off of it at least a few days before I would get AF.

To your question...probably just because I'm Debbie Downer right now! But mostly because I can't wrap my brain around such a simple solution for such a long-term problem. Plus, as I mentioned, we're dealing with other issues too - but that's a side note since i'm just curious about whether it works in situations where there are no other issues.
Wow - I can't believe it extended your LP indefinitely! I never thought of that as being a possibility.
i always stopped it after a negative beta but i imagine eventually i would get AF on it, it would prob just be significantly late.
i just went back to look at old charts to be sure, and i have documented a 10 days LP with no progesterone, and then i have a 15 day LP (stopped progesterone at 12DPO), and a 16 day LP (stopped progesterone at 12DPO) on progesterone. given that those cycles were medicated with trigger so im sure i had a much stronger ovulation and better production of my own progesterone as well, so that may factor in.
but i know a lot of ladies on here do not get AF on progesterone, its pretty common. good luck!!

Sorry, I'm kind of new to this. What do you mean by injectables without prog? What were you injecting??
Thanks!
I took injections to stimulate additional eggs - so that I had 3 eggs instead of 1.
Progesterone should work to increase your LP but you have said you have other issues. It really depends on what they are to determine whether prog will "fix" your issues.
