Help... should I be concerned?
My doc called today and said my FSH level (on CD 4) came back high, 23. Basically premenopausal level. She said, I shouldn't be concerned because I get AF regularly every month (every 26 days) and I've been getting positive OPK every month for the last year.
She thinks it may have been a fluke and wants me and DH to continue trying and will send me back for another blood test in a few months.
I'm so overwhelmed and concerned. How often do test like this come back as a fluke?!

Was this an RE or a gyno?
Why are they waiting a few months to retest you?

Re: Help... should I be concerned?
I am so sorry you go that news and I hope that when they re-test your FSH on next CD3 it is within normal range was was just a fluke.
In March I started all my testing.. my CD14 FSH came back high so they re-tested on the right day. On 4/17 I got the dreaded call that myCD3 FSH was 26 and was immediately referred to an RE.
I have irregular cycles ranging from 31-45 days (45 and 43 right after stopping BCP)... more like 31-37 days and I ovulate each month and have a 14 day luteal phase each month. RE monitored my follicles last month and I was re-tested yet again (20.5 on CD2). She won't officially diagnose me with POF/Perimenopause but says, yes that is pretty much where I stand. We are starting IVF in a couple weeks.
This is all still pretty new to me, but I COMPELTELY understand what you are feeling right now. Please FM me if I can help or if you have any questions
Be sure they test you AMH... That can tell alot also. Mine is actually not so bad (not normal either, but still ok but also appears to be dropping quickly) which is why the RE won't officially diagnose me.
DEMAND A RETEST ON NEXT CD3!

Re: Help... should I be concerned?
I may be wrong, but it sounds as though you are seeing an ob/gyn, not an RE. IMO, unless not possible for insurance reasons, any testing/treatment should be done by an RE. The roles of these doctors is very different, as is their area of expertise. I wouldn't see a neurologist for a skin issue; I'd see a dermatologist. I think most here will agree that seeing an RE, as quickly as possible, is the best route.
Try not to get too concerned just yet. High FSH is a problem, but it's not one that is impossible to overcome. There are many women who went on to have healthy babies, even with an unfavorable FSH.

i agree! See a RE or go for a second opinion to make sure you are getting the right care. why are they waiting a few months before retesting?

Re: Help... should I be concerned?
Yes. The intial testing was all done by my ob/gyn. I'm not sure why she wants me to wait, but she said she'll send me for another round of testing 2-3 mo (I will be sure to include AMH). I'm thinking if it comes back high again, she'll refer me to an RE.
I'm still waiting to get more test results back and once I do I'll go ahead and make an appt with an RE. Why wait and this point and even if it does go down.... will it be enough to be in the "normal" range. WOW!! Some much to digest. I'm so overwhelmed!!
Thank you all again!!
