Spotting

I woke up this morning and noticed some spotting when I wipe. Its brown (not pink or red) but making me very nervous.

I'm only 6weeks 2 days.

When should I call my doctor? Immediately or wait to see if it stops? I notice women talk on here about low progesterone causing spotting ...should I call the doctor today for testing to make sure everything is ok?

ETA: called the office emergency line and my doctor called back immediately. I have to call the office at 8:30 and they'll fit me in this morning.

Re: Spotting

good luck when you go in today!!! I hope everything is ok!! I had spotting early on too (also brownish), so try not to worry...they'll probably draw blood and have you come back in a few days to compare beta #'s to make sure they're rising. Keep us posted!!! i hope everything's ok.

As others mentioned, brown spotting is usually ok. it's the red spots you need to watch out for.

Thanks everyone! Went to the doctor and baby was perfectly fine! Dr did an ultrasound and I got to see the heartbeat for the first time.

Came home from the doctor and caught up on some rest today.

Dr said the spotting might just be from the baby getting deeper into the uterus. My EDD is 2 days sooner than the online calculations gave me!!

I go back in 2 weeks for my first official prenatal appointment.

I had the same thing from weeks 5-10 on and off. I'm glad you wentto the dr. I went anytime I felt uneasy about it. My doc said anytime I was worried to go bc that's what they are there for! So glad everything is ok with the baby!
